Celebrating 12 Years of Education

To God Be the Glory. Giving all praise to God. Candy’s Kids Learning Academy, LLC is celebrating 12 years educating children!!!!!!! January 24, 2011 Candy’s Kids Learning Academy, LLC was established in the comfort of my home in North Philadelphia and expanded to a commercial building in 2014. 

In 12 years God has allowed us to become a high-quality multi-site organization. Participating in the Keystone Stars program. Our family child care is a Star 4 and our center is a Star 4. These achievements allowed us to provide high-quality care for our children and provide free or low cost tuition for our employees.

In 12 years God has allowed us to educate and care for over 325 children. All who were ready for Kindergarten. Many were on 1st and 2nd Grade academic levels. 

In 5 years we have partnered with the City of Philadelphia’s PHL pre-k program where we provide free Pre-K for 3-4 years old. In 2021, we partnered with 1199c for the Early Head Start serving children 0-3 years, and Pre-K Counts serving 3-4 years old.

In 12 years God has allowed us to employ over 45 employees. We have sponsored many employees to receive free or paid 5% of their tuition while our partnership with T. E.A.C.H. T.E.A.C. H. pays 95% of the employees tuition because we are an high-quality child care center. Many of the employees have earned their Child Development Associates (CDA) free of charge including the cost of the examination. Many have earned and is currently enrolled in an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Community College of Philadelphia. Many have earned their Masters Degree in education and Directors Credentials from Eastern University and Chestnut Hill College.  One educator has earned three teaching certificates in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Elementary Education from Eastern University. One educator completed 6 credit hours from  Drexel University to earn a teaching certificate in Pre-K - 4th grade. All sponsored by Candy’s Kids Learning Academy, LLC.

In 12 years the Lord has allowed our organization to be an co-operating teacher for teachers who are completing their student- teaching to become a certified teacher. We have certified three teachers. Our first student teacher completed her student-teaching duties in the spring of 2018 from Eastern University. She became a certified teacher in May 2018. Our second student-teacher completed her student teaching duties the fall of 2019 from Chestnut Hill College. She became a certified teacher in December 2019. Our third student teacher completed her student teaching duties in May 2021.

In 12 years God has allowed us to be a blessing to our communities. We give fruit basket for Christmas to our seniors on the 2200 block of Woodstock street and Jones Memorial Baptist Church. We give book bags and supplies to the children on Woodstock street and Tioga and Emerald street. We also give to Temple Hospital children art supplies during Christmas for those who are in the hospital during Christmas.

Thank you God for being a promise keeper and allowing us to stay a float during this pandemic. You provided like no other allowing me to pay my employees throughout this pandemic when we were shutdown. There is No one like you.!!!!!!

Thanking God for showing me that this is not only a childcare business but also a ministry. Where we pray for our staff, parents, and children. And pray every day at 9 am with our children and staff.
